[text] Leaving Brighton at 35 years old after calling Chelsea a rival, when he could retire at Brighton a club hero. Very disappointed in Welbeck and the club with this. I like him so much it’s hard to not wish him good luck.

[text] We took a punt on Welbeck after Watford, stuck with him through injuries, played the most he ever has and always spoke about how happy he is at Brighton. If he was going back to United to retire I’d understand but to go Chelsea is shameful. Lost some respect for Welbeck.

[text] The club need to stop this “won’t stand in the players way” mentality. Grow a back bone. You need to try and keep your best players if you can. It’s not good enough and gets incredibly frustrating as a supporter.

[text] Not gonna lie, I’m very disappointed in Danny Welbeck. Unless he potentially went back to United to end his career, I thought he’d retire at the Albion. Lost so many experienced players this summer. It’s a bit concerning.
