[image] The bowser wasn't quite ready for the #JFFLetterB montage deadline, but my 1/144 scale 1930s desert airstrip is now complete.

[video] 1/43 scale @Airfix Land Rover fire engine conversion, with @pimoroni Tiny FX lights and siren (sound on), plus bespoke 3D printed parts. Finishing touches to the model and ‘how-to’ video should be done for tomorrow.

[image] That’s pretty much all of the parts designed and test printed. Front hoses and siren are good to go, with pump and controls close behind. Ladders could be a little bit longer. Not 100% sure about the brass mesh over the speaker, but on the whole making good progress. #JFFLetterB

[video] Resin tinting has worked really well for the #BlueLights. Took a whole lot more than a couple of drops of the dye to get anything like an intense enough colour. #JFFLetterB

[image] Ok, I’m calling the fire truck finished. There will be bits and bobs to fiddle with, but I think we’re done. Really fun build with lots of entertaining stuff like the 3D print designs and special effects - of which you can find out more here: #JFFLetterB

[image] Some weathering washes on the wheels and bodywork, plus a bit of overall grime on underbody and chassis. Always seems a bit perverse having spent all that effort getting a good gloss finish just to dull it down, but it is meant to be a working fire engine after all. #JFFLetterB

[image] Very nearly finished. Blue lights installed and all the 3D printed bits attached. Still a bit of mild weathering to do on the back section, and a couple of details to paint. #JFFLetterB

[image] Today’s developments: my first stab at the hoses for the bonnet, and the speaker fitted to the roof. Also I remembered to order some more red paint as I’ve very nearly run out. #JFFLetterB

[image] My second #JFFLetterB entry: Handley Page HP42 G-AAXD 'Horatius'. @Airfix 1:144 scale kit with 3D printed interior and desert landing strip. Mr Color 'Super Silver' paint job with home-made decals. Finished in the nick of time!
