[video] We must think about how we can radically adapt to the era of abundance coming to an end. The only way we can even attempt to retain any semblance of modernity as fossil fuels peak is by engaging in a new kind of multilateral-empire.

[text] Nuclear Power, unless you have abundant fossil carbon combined with favourable conditions for wind and solar (all three) is actually an existential technology to own and have as a baseload for your society.

[text] If you're pro nuclear memorise this. The best Nuclear Reactor in the world is the ADVANCED BOILING WATER REACTOR (ABWR), the Japanese build them in 38-MONTHS and they produce 1350 MW POWER each reactor. If you see a local politician harass them about why we aren't building them.

[text] For Europe this energy crisis is a repeat of the 1970s only a worse shock with a fraction of the industrial capacity or competence of the 70s leaders. No one can build a nuclear reactor with any speed, we don’t have a second North Sea to develop, and we’re much worse in debt.

[image] The bad water situation in the south of England is both a climate change story, and an immigration story. The south of England has like 10 million more people than 25 years ago, and its battered by worse heat waves and has worse conditions for rivers, fish, crops etc.

[text] I think we can with modern technology and agro-ecology make a very large amount of food to feed ourselves without agrochemicals and synthetic fertilisers, but we’d require vastly more human time and people working on the fields.
