[image] Most of us may have seen news channels running stories about the start of Agni Natchathiram from today and how it is going to be the peak spell of summer. Nevertheless we have some good news. There is a chance of a possible LPA in South Bay which could not only bring respite from

[image] Today and tomorrow could be the hottest days of this spell of searing summer heat over North Tamil Nadu including Chennai. Some respite likely from Monday. Most suburbs of Chennai may hit the 40°C mark today with the peak heat stress (UTCI) likely to cross 46°C for the city and

[image] Today may be the last comfortable afternoon across most parts of Tamil Nadu and large parts of Peninsular India as the trend of near normal temperatures for the past few days is set to take a break for the next week to 10 days. From tomorrow day time max temperatures may slowly

[image] A Low Pressure Area is expected to form over SW Bay in the next 24 to 36 hours. The current cyclonic circulation over GOM and adjoining areas may gradually relocate to the open waters of SW bay during this period before deepening into a LPA. Due to this relocation the LPA may

[image] IMD announced the onset of Southwest Monsoon over the shores of Kerala yesterday. The next few days look good for widespread rains between Goa and Kanyakumari dt in south TN. But looking at sub seasonal weather forecasts, it appears monsoon progress beyond Goa may hit some bumps.

[image] It is that time of the year again. The real summer in Chennai. Weather models indicate the seasonal shift in winds is likely to start over Peninsular India. This means an end to summer for places like Kanyakumari, Kerala etc. It also means the start of summer for places like

[image] Under the influence of the Cyclonic Circulation prevailing near Sri Lanka widespread rains likely over South TN with heavy rains likely in a few places along the coast between Delta and Tirunelveli coast. Meanwhile there is still some divergence on how the circulation can behave

[image] Imagine your body perceiving and responding to temperatures of 46°C or more for 9 hours in a day. That's how extreme Heat Stress is going to be over parts of Rayalaseema as summer tightens its grip in Peninsular India. Similarly North Interior TN, parts of West & South TN is also

[image] As the cyclonic circulation moves to the open waters of Bay the next 48 hours may see limited rainfall activity over Peninsular India. Consequently temperatures may also slightly increase compared to the last couple of days though it would be still well below the summer

[image] With the Well Marked Low continuing to linger near Tamil Nadu coast the next 48 hours could be a good window for "கோடையில் ஒரு மழைக்காலம்" along coastal TN. The WML is expected to weaken and drift closer to Peninsular East coast which could potentially bring isolated heavy rains

[image] Southwest Monsoon is all set for its first check in. IMD expects Monsoon to make onset over Andaman in the next couple of days. While Monsoon Jet may be ready for take off there is potential turbulence ahead which could coincide with weak onset phase for Peninsular India as this

[image] Persissting Cyclonic Circulation near Sri Lanka is likely to bring rainy weather to the southern parts of Peninsular India for the next few days. The next few days is also the best bet for coastal places like Chennai to see some rains with Easterlies strengthening. Due to the

[image] Scorching summer continues over Peninsular India as large parts of the region see 40°C or more afternoon temperatures. Closer home West TN may continue to see very hot afternoons with many places in Erode, Karur and parts of Tiruppur, Namakkal and Salem districts seeing afternoon
